This year, in preparation for the next fiscal year, 17 titles have been dropped from the Professional Collection to meet the goal of a 40% decrease in the budget. Certain titles are available online through a Web site or database and updates through
RSS feeds. Additionally, certain titles would not have been available in a print edition and certain titles had been added as literary luxuries. The goal during the deselection process had been to maintain the overall integrity of the collection while providing the best possible resources for materials selection and professional development. Please remember that we will probably not see the loss of these periodicals until 2009.

- Leading for Results
- Office Pro
- Team Management Briefings
- Bookmarks
- Journal of Library Administration
- Public Library Quarterly
- Inside Microsoft Excel (print edition discontinued)
- Inside Microsoft Office (print edition discontinued)
- Inside Microsoft PowerPoint (print edition discontinued)
- Inside Microsoft Word (print edition discontinued)
- Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books - (available through online archives)
- School Library Journal - (available through SLJ Web site, online newsletter, RSS, ProQuest)
- The Believer
- McSweeney's
- Office Professional
